Minion Slabs are used to summon most minions in the game. To summon a minion, the player first must be the correct Creation level, and have enough Creation resource available. If the player has both of these requirements met, then the player can press use with the slab in the player's hands to summon a minion. The minion summoned is based on the slab used. Once a slab is used to summon, it will be consumed. If the requirements to summon a minion are not met, attempting to use a slab will do nothing.
Alternativly, minion slabs can be used to level up the player's Creation skill. This can be done by using a Creation Forge with a slab in the player's hands. In order to use a slab on the forge, the player must be the correct Creation level. Note that the level needed to summon a minion is not neccessarily the same level needed to use the same slab on the forge. If this requirement is met, the slab is consumed, and the player is given xp in their Creation skill. Higher level slabs give more xp than lower level ones. If the player is not the correct Creation level to use a slab, attempting to use one does nothing.
