Foraging is a skill themed around obtaining items from mining. It was removed in 1.16.5-3.6-Public Alpha.

Overview

When the player is mining certain blocks, there is a chance that an unrelated item will pop out. Foraging levels can be increased when these items appear.

The player can get the items from any block that is considered a "Rock" material, while also being a standard-shaped block that is not transparent.

The item pool changes as the player levels up. The possible rewards are as follows:

Ender Pearl	1-2	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 15 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 100 Foraging xp.
Gunpowder	1-16	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 20 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 150 Foraging xp.
Iron Ingot	1-3	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 35 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 650 Foraging xp.
Bottle o' Enchanting	1-4	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 50 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 1000 Foraging xp.
Diamond	1-2	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 65 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 3550 Foraging xp.
Small Skill Crystal	1-2	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 70 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 4000 Foraging xp.
Rosite Ingot	1	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 85 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 10100 Foraging xp.
Gold Coin	1	9.0%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 90 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 19800 Foraging xp.
Occult Pickaxe	1	0.9%	This entry will only roll if the player has at least level 90 Foraging. This entry will additionally grant 30000 Foraging xp.

The chances for an item to drop are as follows. If a block has a hardness value less than or equal to 1, then there is an additional 50% chance that must pass in addition to the below listed chances. If the block's hardness is greater than 1, then the chance to get an item is solely based on the below table.

Tribute

In the overworld, leveling up foraging and obtaining the drops can give the player Pluton tribute points.

The amount of tribute points given decreases as the player levels up in foraging.

Other uses

Once the player reaches level 100 foraging, the player will be able to wear the Foraging Armor.
