Craexxeus (also known as the Ancient of War) is the boss of the Shyrelands.
Spawning[edit | edit source]
Craexxeus' first phase can be spawned using /summon aoa3:craexxeus, his second phase can be spawned using aoa3:xxeus.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
Craexxeus' boss fight is divided into two phases, each phase possessing its own stats and attacks. If the player is within 40 blocks on any axis of either phase, the gust of wind event in the shyrelands will be disabled. The other events can still occur however.
First phase[edit | edit source]
In the first phase, Craexxeus will fly around on his mount. He will chase after the player once spotted. While in pursuit of the player, he can fire two different types of projectiles at the player:
In addition to the above abilities, Craexxeus is capable of doing melee damage to the player.
When the first phase's health reaches zero, the second phase will begin.
Second phase[edit | edit source]
Once Craexxeus' first phase is defeated, the rider, Xxeus will dismount and begin attacking the player.
Xxeus attacks with melee attacks that do 25 (×12.5) damage each. Throughout the fight, Xxeus can jump over the player and attack from behind.
Drops[edit | edit source]
Craexxeus' first phase drops the Craexxeus statue.
Craexxeus' second phase will also always drop one of his four weapon drops, giving a 25% chance for each of the 4 weapons, in addition to the Xxeus statue.
Both phases will drop 3 XP orbs each.
Strategies[edit | edit source]
Recommended Equipment[edit | edit source]
Armor[edit | edit source]
If the player doesn't have a Kaiyu Staff, then Primordial Armor or Innervation Armor is recommended, to dodge Craexxeus' powerful attacks. If the player does have a Kaiyu Staff, then the player can bring Commander Armor or SpaceKing Armor.
The player should make sure each piece of armor is enchanted with high levels of Protection or Projectile Protection. The player may put Blast Protection on their armor, for Craexxeus' Craexxeus Bombs, although doing so isn't entirely necessary. Absolutely do not put Fire Protection on the armor, because Craexxeus doesn't utilize fire in any of his attacks.
Melee Weapons[edit | edit source]
It is highly recommended that the player puts a high level of the Knockback enchantment on their sword, especially if the player doesn't have a Kaiyu Staff. Putting high levels of Sharpness and Fire Aspect on the player's sword are also recommended.
Ranged Weapons[edit | edit source]
Make sure each ranged weapon is heavily enchanted. If the player's ranged weapon is a gun, it should have at least Shell II and Control II on it. If it's an energy weapon, it should have at least Overpower II and Recharge II.
Other Equipment[edit | edit source]
A Gravitator could come in handy, for when the player is teleported with Craexxeus to above his altar. A Kaiyu Staff is recommended, especially if the player is inexperienced, but it isn't required to defeat the boss.
The Battle[edit | edit source]
If the player has a Kaiyu Staff, the player should activate it before spawning the boss.
In the first phase, the player should walk in a circle around the Craexxeus Altar while shooting at Craexxeus. When Craexxeus teleports the player and himself to the center of the room, the player can use a Gravitator to get away from him, and then start shooting him again. Only use a sword against the first phase if Craexxeus manages to corner the player, or gets too close to shoot.
Once Craexxeus enters his second phase, the player should only use a sword against him, Xxeus jumps too often to use a gun.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Xxeus could be the true name of the Ancient of War, meanwhile it's mount might be called Crae.
