Overview[edit | edit source]

WARNING: Do not save and quit in this dimension. Due to a bug, doing so will cause the player to be dumped into the void upon returning to the Overworld.

Vox Ponds takes place sometime after some sort of apocalyptic event occurred. Civilization is nowhere to be seen, robotic hostiles roam the surface of the Ponds, and fungi and toxic wastes coat the dead and dark landscape. The atmosphere of Vox Ponds is very toxic and radioactive, so the player has to wear the Hazmat Armor in order to explore the dimension. Later, the player can bring a Face Mask once the player has gathered the materials for one. This allows you to explore with different kinds of armor.

The Vox Ponds Realmstone.png Realmstone for Vox Ponds is currently dropped by Pod Plants, Flower Faces and Squashers, which are from Gardencia (though Flower Faces can be found in the Ancient Cavern). (In the next update, this will no longer be so).

When the player enters Vox Ponds, he/she will receive a Strength buff from Erebon.

What should I bring?[edit | edit source]

HazmatArmorIcons.png - Exploring Vox Ponds is impossible by all legitimate means without the entire set of Hazmat Armor.

Explochron Sword.png Crystallite Sword.png - A decent damage doing sword is good enough to slay the monsters in Vox Ponds thanks to Erebon's Strength buff.

Wizard Staff.png - A Wizard Staff is needed to combat Destructors. Its ability to turn enemies into Chickens will make Destrutors a much lesser hassle.

HunterAtt.png - At least Hunter level 33 or higher is recommended. This is required to defeat Fischers.

Water Bucket.png - A waterfall to allow passage between the surface and the Underground Lake when needed. Without a waterfall, it can be very difficult to get back up.

Why should I go to Vox Ponds?[edit | edit source]

Face Mask.png - A Face Mask can be made from materials from here. Once you get a Face mask, you can bring and use other useful sets of armor, such as PoisonArmorIcons.png Poison Armor.

Store Vox Crate.png Lotto Vox Crate.png - The Lottery and Store Vox Crates can be collected and brought home, saving you a lot of trouble from exploring and braving the Ponds.

Noxious Staff.png - Powerful weapons can be obtained from Vox Ponds. The Noxious Staff, in particular, is good against Cotton Candor.

Generation[edit | edit source]

The surface of Vox Ponds is very flat, with pools of Toxic Waste everywhere. Standing in one of these pools will inflict Poison and Nausea. The trees and other foliage appear to be dead and/or radiated, and the structures are in a ruined state and abandoned.

Underground Lake[edit | edit source]

Main article: Underground Lake

Digging down about 6 blocks will reveal an underground lake. Root-like objects hang from the ceiling. This is the only place Fischers can be found. A few structures can be found down here as well.

Mobs[edit | edit source]

The mobs of Vox Ponds all have a robotic theme. There are a total of 9 hostile mobs in Vox Ponds. Out of those 9, only one is a hunter mob. A majority of the hostile mobs have their own special abilities or statuses (e.g.:exploding, poisoning, etc), though not all.

Tips for hunting mobs and exploring Vox Ponds[edit | edit source]

  • It's all too easy to accidentally fall into a bunch of Toxic Waste. Try to move around the pools. Better yet, you can also build over the pools or even collect the blocks of Toxic Waste.
  • Because of how flat Vox Ponds is, Destructors can spawn very frequently.
  • It's a good idea to place torches on the ground while you're walking about. That way, when you need to go back home, you can simply follow the light to return to the portal.
  • Be careful if your Hazmat armor becomes badly damaged. If any part of the set breaks while still in Vox Ponds, death is almost guaranteed.
