The Nether is a fiery, hellish dimension.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Nether is a dimension in vanilla Minecraft. Advent of Ascension adds several new mobs and a couple new structures to the Nether that can be very dangerous and rewarding.
For more information on the vanilla aspects of the Nether, go to the Minecraft Wiki's Nether page.
Advent of Ascension adds a realmstone for the Nether, which can be obtained by submerging the player in lava while a Blank Realmstone is in the player's inventory. The Nether Realmstone is optional, as the player can still access the Nether through the vanilla method. Using the realmstone will not apply the 8:1 portal conversion that the vanilla Minecraft Nether Portal has. The realmstone added by the mod will produce a portal made of Glowstone instead of obsidian.
Generation[edit | edit source]
The landscape of the Nether is cave-like, sealed off at the top and at the bottom by Bedrock. It is covered in fire and lava and contains several steep cliffs, making it hard to navigate some areas of the dimension. Towards y = 31, there is a lava sea.
Structures[edit | edit source]
The Nether has 2 structures:
|Nethengeic Pit||These are small dungeons that contain spawners that spawn Nethengeic Beasts. They generate between y = 25 and y = 35. The Nethengeic Beasts inside are Hunter mobs that cannot be damaged without a hunter level of at least 24.|
|300px||Fire Rune Shrine||The Fire Rune variant of the Rune Shrine can also spawn in the Nether.|
Mobs[edit | edit source]
The Nether has 12 mobs, nine of which are added by Advent of Ascension and two are Hunter mobs.
