The Tharafly is an aggressive flying mob that appears in Barathos

Spawning[edit | edit source]

Tharaflies spawn naturally in Barathos. They also are spawned inside of Baron Castles.

They will despawn if the player gets too far away from them, or if the difficulty is set to Peaceful.

Despite being a flying creature, Tharaflies still spawn on the ground before flying up.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Tharaflies are flying melee mobs that will follow targets at head height through the air. As flying mobs do not have to avoid ground obstacles, they are able to path directly towards their targets, only avoiding blocks in the way in midair.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 36 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Classification[edit | edit source]

Tharaflies are classified as Arthropods, and as such the effects of Bane of Arthropods will apply to them.
