Skippers are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[edit | edit source]

Skippers spawn naturally in water in swamp-type biomes in the Overworld.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Skippers are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water.

Unlike most melee mobs, Skippers will not try to avoid water when chasing targets or wandering around. They also retain their full movement speed if they do go into water, and will not drown. This makes them harder to escape than other mobs.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Classification[edit | edit source]

Skippers are classified as Arthropods, and as such the effects of Bane of Arthropods will apply to them.
