Muckopedes are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[ | ]

Muckopedes spawn naturally in mesa-type biomes in the Overworld.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.

Behavior[ | ]

Muckopedes are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Unique Abilities[ | ]

When a Muckopedes successfully attacks an entity, it will apply slowness 3 for 7.5 seconds.

Classification[ | ]

Muckopedes are classified as Arthropods, and as such the effects of Bane of Arthropods will apply to them.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]

The mortal enemy of anyone with a fear of more than 6 legs on one creature. Muckopedes are generally only found in dry areas where they can use their natural colouring to blend into the ground.

Where possible, they enjoy bathing in mud, though this doesn't seem to offer any functional benefits to the creature.

Muckopedes are easily spooked and will attack out of fright if approached. Their bite applies a minor nerve agent that can cause drowsiness and mild weakness for a short time.
