The Molten Upgrader is an easter egg item. Originally an upgrade kit, it was functionally removed from the mod in 3.2. Its only use is in a chain of item conversions that results in the Experiment W-801.

Like most other easter egg items, Molten Upgraders do not appear in the creative inventory. They are also unobtainable through /give, as they are instantly deleted when obtained in this manner.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

Molten Upgraders are only obtained when the player hits a mob with a Millenium Upgrader while both are simultaneously in lava.

Usage[edit | edit source]

When used to deal the finishing blow to a Dark Beast, Irkling, Night Watcher, Scrubby, or Skellox during the Full Moon Event, the Molten Upgrader will be consumed and a Moonstone will drop. The moon phase must be full when the mob is killed, and killing the mobs at any other time will do nothing.

Molten Upgrader can also be used on a Shyre Log to produce one Soulbone. Soulbones are currently useless, however.

For any of these uses, the entire stack of Molten Upgraders will be consumed, but the output will always only be one item, so it is a waste to use more than one at a time.

History[edit | edit source]

Version Information
2.4 Added Molten Upgrader.
3.2 Molten Upgrader can be used to kill Full Moon Event mobs to obtain Moonstones. Removed all prior functional uses of Molten Upgrader. Made Molten Upgrader unobtainable through /give and the creative inventory.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Prior to being made into an easter egg item, the Molten Upgrader was an upgrade kit used only to upgrade the Hot Shot into the Heat Wave. In 3.2, the Nether Upgrade Kit assumed the role instead.
