Hunches are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[edit | edit source]

Hunches spawn naturally in snowy biomes in the Overworld.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Hunches are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Bestiary Entry[edit | edit source]

Hunches are very strange beings. They were originally cold-water amphibious creatures, but at some point developed the ability to walk on land in a bipedal fashion. This stance causes their shoulders to rise up towards their head, hence the 'hunch' name.

Hunches will attack approaching creatures as they see them as a threat to their very limited available food sources.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Hunch was the first mob to be added to Advent of Ascension.[1]
