Hill Chargers are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.
Spawning[ | ]
Hill Chargers spawn naturally in mesa-type biomes in the Overworld.
They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.
Behavior[ | ]
Hill Chargers are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.
They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.
Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.
When running, Hill Chargers do not handle quick turning very well. They require a short distance to slow down, or to take a wide turn. This allows players more easily outmaneuver them.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]
“ | The Hill Charger is another variant of the charger family of birds. Primarily residing in hot, dry, hilly areas, the hill charger can generally be distinguished from normal chargers by their sunburnt skin and hair.
Like most other chargers, they will attack unprovoked at high speed, utilising their sharp beak to inflict damage. |
