The Four Guardians are one of two Haven bosses. The Four Guardians are a quadruple boss fight, where each of the guardians is on the map at the same time. Each guardian has a different ability. The Four Guardians are ranged creatures that deal special effects with their projectiles. They can be spawned using a Voliant Heart on the Guardian Altar at the top of a Guardian's Tower. Each of the Four Guardians have a 11% chance of dropping each item, so technically you have 4 chances of getting whatever drop you want.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
Each guardian possesses a different ability. The guardians are each a ranged creature that hovers above the ground. Each guardian shares the same amount of health.
Red Guardian[edit | edit source]
The Red Guardian will shoot red projectiles. These projectiles will slow down a player's movement speed if they are hit by them. These projectiles are fired at a medium speed.
Blue Guardian[edit | edit source]
The Blue Guardian shoots blue projectiles that limit a player's vision. If a player is hit by the projectile, the player will experience a form of blindness that massively reduces the range of a player's vision and darkens the screen. These projectiles are fired at a slow speed.
Green Guardian[edit | edit source]
The Green Guardian shoots explosive green projectiles. These projectiles are fired at a slower rate than any of the other projectiles from the other guardians. These projectiles will create a small explosion on impact.
Yellow Guardian[edit | edit source]
The Yellow Guardian shoots fast moving yellow projectiles at a fast speed. These projectiles have no other status effect unlike the other guardians.
Strategies[edit | edit source]
It is extremely recommended to wear armor that has projectile protection enchantments when facing the Four Guardians, to reduce the damage from all their attacks. Explosive Armor with projectile protection is very effective because the Green Guardian will have less of an effect. The Noxious staff is very effective on the guardians
It is ideal to focus on a certain guardian in any given fight. There are valuable reasons for choosing any guardian, and the decision can change depending on the play style of the player.
The Red Guardian can be chosen as the initial focus due to the fact that the movement impairing projectiles will cause players to get hit by an increased amount of projectiles. When a player is moving slowly, that player is more susceptible to ranged attacks as they are less likely to miss.
The Blue Guardian can be chosen to be focused because the vision impairment can make it far more difficult to fight the guardians. Although the vision effect may be restricting, it is not recommended to focus the Blue Guardian as the other guardians generally pose more of an early threat.
The Green Guardian can be a good choice for being focused because the explosive projectiles can easily deal the most damage. The explosions are dangerous to players due to the unpredictability of the explosion damage and knockback behavior.
The Yellow Guardian is an early threat and could be focused because the more rapid-fire shots will mean more damage is output. These rapid fire shots will massively reduce a player's sustain in the fight.
Drops[edit | edit source]
Four Guardians's drops are NOT exclusive. That means you could get all possible items in a single kill, along with the respective statue of this boss.
Each guardian always drops its stone statue version when killed.
