Bush Babies are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.

Spawning[edit | edit source]

Bush Babies spawn naturally in jungle-type biomes in the Overworld.

They will only spawn during the day, and like most other mobs; their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

Bush Babies are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.

They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.

Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.

Bestiary Entry[edit | edit source]

If you were to describe what happens when you combine a furby with a slime before jamming it full of leaves and throwing it on its head, you'd give Bush Babies at a shining example.

These deceptively short creatures hang around high-density jungles and trees, preferring to use their appearance to blend into nearby leaves and shrubs.

Despite their short stature, they are incredibly fast on their feet, and love using this to their advantage to be a general nuisance to whoever they feel like.

Because of this, and their body impact force being amplified by their fast speed, it's recommended to try to stay high up in jungles or avoid them entirely until you are ready to defend yourself from a pack of these impish nightmares.
