Bugeyes are hostile melee mobs that spawn naturally in the Overworld.
Spawning[ | ]
Bugeyes spawn naturally in all biomes in the Overworld.
They will only spawn during the night, or in places with a light level lower than 8. Their spawning can be prevented by placing torches or other lighting blocks nearby to raise the light level above 7.
Behavior[ | ]
Bugeyes are melee mobs that will follow targets both on land and in water. They will initially attempt to avoid getting into the water where possible, but will go in if they find no other path to their target.
They are aggressive, and will attack nearby players within 16 blocks without provocation. If attacked by another entity, they will retaliate and continue targeting that entity.
Staying outside of their targeting range will prevent them from attacking or targeting entities.
Unique Abilities[ | ]
When a Bugeye successfully attacks a player, it will apply a screen effect, partially blocking the player's view. This will wear off after 7.5 seconds.
Classification[ | ]
Bugeyes are classified as arthropods, and as such the effects of Bane of Arthropods will apply to them.

Bestiary Entry[ | ]
“ |
Bugeyes are your typical 6-legged insect, with the slight difference that they're 3 feet tall. Besides their unusually large size, Bugeyes are almost entirely unremarkable. The single exception to this is their single eye, which is likely to give the creature poor vision compared to its smaller insect counterparts. Like a parasitic insect, Bugeyes are aggressive and will chase and bite whatever it feels like, whenever it feels like. |
