3.1

3.0[3] is a major update released on 22nd February 2019.[1] 3.0's primary focus is updating Advent of Ascension to the 1.12.2 version of Minecraft, as well as rewriting internal systems in the mod.

The mod's internal name was changed from nevermine to aoa3, and many ID names were changed. All 1.7.10 worlds will be unable to update to 1.12.2 due to this. See /Id changes for a full list of ID name changes.

Additions[edit | edit source]

All dimensions, and most blocks, items, weapons, armor, tools, mobs, npcs, bosses, and minions as of Tslat 1.1.3 have been implemented in 1.12.2, with some exceptions.

  • Added fences and fence gates for all wood plank variants.
  • Added slabs and new stairs for all wood planks, bricks, and ivory variants.
  • Dimensional Fabric
    • Completely unbreakable by all means, including in creative mode.
    • The player cannot place blocks against it.
    • Not in the creative inventory.
  • Added the following ore lamps:
    • Elecanium Lamp
    • Varsium Lamp
    • Baronyte Lamp
    • Blazium Lamp
    • Ghastly Lamp
    • Ghoulish Lamp

  • Added grey and golden statues for Hydrolisk, The Immortals, Baroness, Tyrosaur, and MechBot.
  • Added ornate statues - statues that are colored the same as the boss they correspond to.
    • Currently do not exist in the creative inventory and cannot be crafted. They can be obtained through /give: e.g. /give <player> aoa3:ornate_<bossName>_statue.

Items[edit | edit source]

Armor[edit | edit source]

Enchantments[edit | edit source]

  • Added in all enchantments except Overpower, Slice, and Windfury.
  • Added new enchantment: Brace.
    • When put on a gun, staff, archergun, or vulcane, will allow it to be fired in the offhand.
  • Added new levels of older enchantments.
    • Crush and Control now go up to level III.
    • Archmage now goes up to level III.
    • Sever and Recharge now go up to level V.
  • New enchantment: Form.
    • Decreases shotgun spread.
    • Goes up to level III.

    • If put on a gun, shotgun, sniper, or cannon, will cause it to consume +1 extra ammo per fire than normal. In most cases, this means the weapon will consume two ammo instead of one.
      • For weapons with a chance to not consume ammo, the ammo will not be consumed if the chance goes through.
    • If put on a blaster, will cause it to consume 30% more energy.
    • If put on a staff, will cause it to consume +2 extra runes of all rune types that it must consume. For example, the noxious staff would consume 5 wind runes and 4 poison runes instead of the usual 3 wind runes and 2 poison runes.
      • Using the archmage enchantment and/or wearing nightmare armor/runation armor can negate/reverse the effect of the curse enchantment.
    • If put on a throwing weapon, will cause two of the throwing weapons to be consumed upon using the throwing weapon.
    • If put into a dispenser, curse enchantment does not apply.

Structures[edit | edit source]

Commands[edit | edit source]

  • New command: aoastructure
    • Used to spawn in structures from the mod.
    • /aoastructure list <Number> can be used to generate a list of structure names in the chat.
      • The structures are split up between nine pages. The player can specify the page number by typing the page number in after the command.
    • /aoastructure <Structure> x y z to spawn in a structure.
      • <Structure> is the name of the structure.
      • x,y,z, are the coordinates of the structure.
        • The ~ symbol can be used in place of actual coordinates.
    • /aoastructure <Structure> here spawns in a structure at the current location of the player.

    • Portals will now generate on top of the ground, instead of partially inside it.
    • All portals will now generate a platform under them if they spawn in mid-air or on the edge of a cliff. Portals will also try to not spawn at the edge of a cliff.

Shotguns[edit | edit source]

Shotguns are a new weapon class introduced in 3.0. Guns in this class fire multiple bullets at once, yet only consume one ammo per fire. Shotguns consume spreadshots as ammunition.

The following guns are now classed as shotguns. With except of the demolisher, boulder, vivo, ginger blaster, amplifier and discharge shotgun, none of the guns in this category fired multiple bullets before 3.0:

The following shotguns have received changes:

Snipers[edit | edit source]

Sniper rifles have received major changes. Scoping is now triggered by sneaking while holding the sniper. Scoping greatly increases the accuracy of a sniper, without the scope the bullet the sniper fires flies out of control. Snipers also have much more massive recoil while unscoped than while scoped. All snipers consume metal slugs as ammunition.

The player has the ability to walk around while scoped. Sharpshot armor grants a 30% damage increase to snipers (as opposed to the previous 25%). If the sniper is the mark maker or moon maker, it gets a 45% damage increase instead.

The BayonetteSR now has an attack speed of 0.8 for its melee attack.

Armor[edit | edit source]

All armor items have received a new texture.

In previous versions, all armors had a protection level of diamond armor. All armors added by the mod now have 1 point of armor toughness, with exception of artistry armors, which have two points. The protection values of some armors were also changed.

Holding a piece of artistry armor in the player's hand will cause it to drop to the ground/move to another inventory space, just like with the extraction tools.

The following armors have protection changes (+8 is diamond armor):

Protection (on chestplate) Armor
+ 10 armor
+ 9 armor
+ 7 armor

In addition to the above protection changes, some armors received full set bonus changes:

  • Archaic Armor - no longer heals the player.
  • Augury Armor - no longer gives a 1 heart shield when the player jumps.
  • Baron Armor - the player now does/takes 20% the melee damage instead of 25%.

  • Elecanyte Armor - now consumes 200 energy to block 80% damage, instead of the 25 energy needed to block 60% damage.
  • Extraction Armor - now grants increased movement speed while swimming in lava, instead of granting haste.
  • Fungal Armor - now reflects double melee damage to attacker, instead of 350% damage.

  • Hauling Armor - now grants an additional boost to catching rarer items when fishing.

  • Predatious Armor - now grants 50% bonus holly arrow damage, instead of 70%. Now also grants 10% chance to dodge ranged attacks, instead of 20%.

  • Purity Armor - now does/takes 20% projectile damage instead of 25%.
  • Rosidian Armor - now spawns a rosid every 20 seconds instead of 15.
  • Runation Armor - now doubles runes from all non-random rune posts.
